Dr Sherub Sherub
Dr. Sherub is a leading naturalist in Bhutan, with a special interest in birds. He currently heads the Center for Conservation at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation & Environment Research.He is conducting a research in movement ecology to understand migration systems and movement mechanisms in birds in the eastern Himalayas, using his homeland Bhutan as the research laboratory. He has been collaborating with the Max Planck Institute for Animal Behaviour, International Crane Foundation, WWF- Bhutan Program, and the Royal Society for Protection of Nature, besides the agencies within the Department of Forests and Park Services, Ministry of Agriculture. He has been working on black-necked cranes, Himalayan vultures, snow pigeons, rufous-necked hornbills, great hornbills, wreathed hornbills and oriental pied hornbills, ruddy shelducks, white-bellied herons and Indian crows.
