Rebecca Pradhan is a senior ecologist with the Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN) and has been recognized as one of the biodiversity ‘Hotspot Heroes’ by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund. She is a plant ecologist and was awarded the National Order of Merit of Bhutan (2016). In her role with RSPN, she leverages her knowledge of Himalayan flora and fauna to develop and implement effective methods of conservation. Rebecca and the RSPN team used the grant from CEPF to collaborate with communities along the pho-chu (river) in the Punakha Region of Bhutan to protect one of the last remaining habitats for the critically endangered white-bellied heron. She has authored multiple books, including, Wild Lilies and Poppies of Bhutan, Wild Rhododendrons of Bhutan, Threatened Birds in Bhutan, Conifers of Bhutan and the Basic Gardening Book and many articles on various species.
