The first edition of the Bonfire Tales motorcycling expedition will take place in Bhutan from 22–24 August, before the annual Mountain Echoes literature festival in Thimphu from 26–28 August. The tour, to be led by actor Kelly Dorji, will start and end at Thimphu and will take you to Gangtey Monastery and Punakha over mountainous terrain, including the Phobjikha valley in the Black Mountains.

Along the way, you get to visit other religious sites, check out traditional art, savour delicious local cuisine and end the night with a bonfire. Accommodation is at the five-star Gangtey Goenpa Lodge and Dhensa Resort.

Even if you’re not a biker, you could still ride pillion or do the trip in an SUV.

Priced at Rs2 lakh, the 2N3D package will take up to 16 pax and includes:
